Alpena Community College Jigs and Fixture Design Elements (MFG 220)

This a a tool design course using Autodesk Inventor software. This course covers types and functions of jigs, CNC fixtures, and check gauges. Included in the design process are part nesting, locating, clamping, work holding, and application of commercially available tool components. The complete design includes economic tool budgets, proper application of tolerances and datums, application of GD&T to tool designs, selection of materials, and generation of complete working drawings.
