PTLO 101 - Introduction to the Petroleum Industry

An introduction to the various aspects of the petroleum industry including equipment, systems, instrumentation, operations, and the various scientific principles involved. The course also addresses a variety of petroleum technologies: exploration, drilling, production, transportation, marketing, and chemical processing industries. The importance of safety as well as environmental issues are also discussed. Current event topics of the oil industry will be discussed freely in this class as it relates to the scheduled subject or chapter.
