CLA150 Clinical Laboratory Hematology 1

This course introduces the field of clinical laboratory science. Students will learn about how a large laboratory operates and about all of the guidelines that must be followed. The course includes the following topics of study: Communication and professionalism, soft skills and critical thinking and reasoning. How to work as a team, professional ethics and privacy laws. Diversity and cultural sensitivity training, clinical lab organization structure, laboratory equipment use and maintenance, quality assurance, specimen collection and identification, laboratory math, how to use and maintain microscopes and analyzers specific to the study of hematology in the clinical laboratory setting.
