Instructional Materials - Computerized Provider Order Entry (Bellevue College)

This document contains a compilation of instructional resources related to Computerized Provider Order Entry, which may include content sources, learning activities, discussion questions, and assessment questions. These health IT materials were designed to be infused into existing Nursing, Allied Health, and IT programs. Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) is a system that supports provider electronic entry of orders, such as medications, diagnostic tests, and procedures within an EHR/EMR system. The use of CPOE typically can reduce errors caused by poor handwriting, and can help improve care coordination among providers. It can usually be integrated with other tools, like clinical decision support systems to facilitate evidence based care. The following activity and assessment resources are for clinical students to explore how this will impact their practice.
