Digital Forensics - Allegany

Digital Forensics is a 15-week course that explores technical and legal aspects of collecting and handling digital evidence in both criminal and civil investigations. Students learn to use different tools to collect, acquire, and examine digital evidence. The course covers both technical and legal aspects of evidence recovery and processing, and discusses reporting and testimony. Technical training is based on requirements laid out in ISO 27037(2013). This course focuses on the use of the most popular forensics tools and provides specific guidance on dealing with civil and criminal matters relating to the law and technology. Included are discussions on how to manage a digital forensics operation in today’s business environment.
