Neonatal Resuscitation Program - North Iowa Area Community College

This course provides participants with the opportunity to discuss and demonstrate neonatal resuscitation skills. It includes an overview and principals of resuscitation, initial steps, use of devices, chest compressions, intubation, LMA insertion, medications, special considerations, resuscitation of the pre-term baby, and end of life ethics and care. Course follows American Academy of Pediatrics and AHA 2011 guidelines. The skills portion of NRP is approved for 2.0 Contact Hours for nurses, 2 CEH’s for EMS providers. Other health care personnel will receive a CE certificate reflecting 2 hours of education. NIACC is Iowa Board of Nursing Provider #3 and State Department of Health Emergency Medical services approved sponsor #2 of continuing education programs for EMS Personnel.
