This certificate contains modules covering:
Within each module are competency sections for all CompTIA exams covered by this certificate and other requirements for learning including PACE-IT introduction, TestOut LabSim, Career Management, Entrepreneurship, and your Capstone Project.
Following is a list of the modules and detailed course outline, please click on the link to open the list: Modules List
You and your student mentor will set up the pace by which you will complete this certificate's content. Typically, the content in the certificate is linear and will be completed in the order it is presented.
Modules are set up in a specific order and require passage of the module competency quiz before moving on to the next module. Before moving onto the next subject, i.e. from A+ 801 to A+ 802, the student must receive a passing grade on the industry exam for that module subject.
There are multiple types of assessments throughout this certificate. Each module contains an assessment appropriate for the type of information you are learning. You are required to complete the assessment(s) within and at the end of each module before receiving credit for the module.
The graded assessments include:
Awarding of the PACE-IT grant certificate requires that you demonstrate a 2.8 (B-) or better competency on all outcomes as well as passing one industry recognized certification. For the Technology and Integration Certificate you will have your choice of industry certifications to meet this requirement. You do not have to take all of these exams, but you must take and pass at least one. They are:
Before you are awarded the certificate from Edmonds Community College, you must take and pass one of these industry exams. In the case of the PC Pro and the Network Pro exams, the first exam is included with the purchase of Test Out software. Other exam fees are the responsibility of the student. Module grades must meet a minimum grade of 2.8 on the grade scale. Until you pass a module with the 2.8 grade, you will not be able to move on to the next module. Modules may have a mix of quizzes, tests, and project assignments and learning activities to demonstrate your competency.
The grade table below shows how your quizzes, tests and project assignments will line up on the decimal system. For instance, if you demonstrate that you know the competency at 95%, you will receive a 4.0 for that module. If you should demonstrate that you only know 70% of the competency, you will be required to continue working in the module until you show that you know a minimum of 83% of the competency.
