Learner Competencies and Outcomes
Upon completion of this course module, the student will be able to:
- Use software to create, edit, and print documents.
- Identify steps in the word and information processing cycle.
- Key and format personal letters.
- Edit documents using spell check and grammar program.
- Key and format business letters and format multiple page letters.
- Create and format memoranda and format multiple page memoranda.
- Format basic headers and footers.
- Key and format small, large, and interoffice envelopes.
- Key and format address labels.
- Fold and prepare correspondence for distribution.
- Create tables using tabs and table features.
- Use reference materials.
- Key and format outline.
- Key and format unbound, leftbound, and topbound reports.
- Key and format report references.
- Insert and format page numbers.
- Proofread and edit copy using proofreaders' marks.
- Key and format rough draft copy.
- Key three five-minute timed writings with a minimum of 35 WAM.
- Use touch method to operate numeric keypad to develop speed and accuracy.
