Date: September 28, 2017 This Orthotics and Prosthetics Office Specialist course has been constructed in modules so that is easily adaptable. There are several features of this course you should be aware of before proceeding. 1) Modules Each module in the office specialist course is presented here in a .zip folder. Individual modules can be completed independently, but be careful with medicare modules! Medicare is complicated, and it may be difficult for some learners to complete some activities without some fundamentals first (i.e. health insurance basics, medicare basics, etc.) To access modules, just download and unzip the folder. 2) Presentations Many of the presentations within this course were authored using either Elucidat (http://elucidat.com) or Lodestar (lodestarlearning.com). Both softwares create file packages that must be installed in a learning management system by first uploading the package into a file directory and then linking to the "launch.html" or "index.html" file respectively. These presentations are not 508 compliant, so alternative format documents have been provided as substitutes for persons who may need an accommodation. 3) Fair use material Throughout this course there is fair use material located within folder marked fair-use-material. These are provided for just that - fair use - and should not be misconstrued as CCBY material. 4) Content best presented in an LMS Most modules have documents containing activities or documents containing lists of links. These are referenced in guidesheets in each module. These have been placed in documents, but the content was originally conceptualized for placement in an LMS. Get creative with this content and develop your own course architecture. 5) Sequencing While many modules can simply be reappropriated as needed, this course was developed linearly, and some of the content is best taken in sequence. Refer to the syllabus in "general-course-files" for a table detailing the module sequence. 6) Images omitted Elucidat presentations contain images of persons that do not appear the ada versions. This is because those images are not released under a CCBY license, however, they are licensed for use within an Elucidat presentation. Please do not rip them from the Elucidat presentations - that's illegal man!
