What Would You Buy?

Now that you've learned about operating systems, computer components, and different types of software, let's put it all together.

Scenario

Think about what you need your computer to be able to do. Is there an operating system that would work best for you, or that you have a personal preference for? Is there specific software your computer has to have for any of your classes? Are you crazy about pictures, so need specific photography software or a lot of memory? Do you mainly just surf the web, so just need something for that purpose? Do you always use your computer in the same spot in your house, or do you need a device that is easily mobile?

All of these questions and more are things you should take into consideration when you decide a new computer purchase is in your future. Take these questions into consideration, but also think of some of your own as you complete this assignment. You may use Word or another word processing program or application to complete this assignment:

1. Create a list of at least 10 questions and requirements that your new device must have or be able to do. (This will be specific to your personal needs, and feel free to use some of the questions listed as a starting point.) Use the readings and lessons from this module to help guide you in coming up with the questions and what you decide to be the answers.

2. Research online to find a device that fits your needs. Once you've decided on the device, find it on at least two sites to compare prices. (You may want to use sites such as newegg.com, Best Buy, etc...)

3. Write at least two paragraphs explaining the device you chose, why you made that decision, and where you would purchase it from and why.

4. Click on the "What Would You Buy?" Blackboard link submit your document.
