CAD 102 Course Description

Focuses on intermediate to advanced computer aided drafting skills using the latest release of the AutoCAD software. Includes blocks, wblocks & dynamic blocks, hatching, isometric drawings, advanced dimensioning and dimension variables, layouts, paper space and viewports, templates, external references, attributes, raster images, sheet sets and printing/plotting.

Course Competencies

  1. Create and use block and wblocks.
  2. Insert dynamic blocks and modify their parameters and actions.
  3. Create documents to apply hatch and graphic patterns.
  4. Draw isometric drawings.
  5. Apply advanced dimensions, dimension variables, and dimension styles to drawings.
  6. Create template files using layouts and advanced file setup procedures.
  7. Create multiple viewports in paper/layout space.
  8. Prepare a master drawing with layouts to include externally referenced drawings.
  9. Create and apply attributes to symbols and blocks.
  10. Create drawings which include raster images and the commands used to trace raster images.
  11. Utilize annotative objects in advanced drawings.
  12. Complete a document sheet set.
  13. Produce printed/plotted drawings.
