Introduction to Manufacturing
This course provides a basic overview of basic manufacturing processes and career opportunities within manufacturing. Students will participate in a manufacturing simulation in which they will analyze the manufacturing process for a product and redesign the process to incorporate a teaming approach.
Students will be given an introduction to the critical nature of safety in manufacturing and to the role of the individual in maintaining a safe work environment. This course provides students with an opportunity to develop their interpersonal skills through interactive exercises conducted in a team setting. Debriefing these exercises with all members of the class helps ensure that the exercises translate into personal and interpersonal learning for the participants.
