This curriculum is designed to provide the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to function as a certified nurse aid. Students perform selected nursing skills to meet basic human needs with the opportunity to practice these skills in both a college skills laboratory and a clinical setting.

The Connecticut Health & Life Sciences TAACCCT consortium engaged statewide and local employers to help shape and implement this grant. This included a review of proposed curricula and recommendations for program structure that reflects the Healthcare and Science sectors in the State of Connecticut. The consortium also engaged advisory boards at each member college to solicit input and recommendations for this initiative.
