Innovations Moving People to Achieve Certified Training (IMPACT)

The IMPACT consortium in Nebraska developed a blended Diversified Manufacturing Technology (DMT) certificate which links to multiple program pathways consisting of stacked and latticed credentials mapped to industry skills certifications. The DMT certificate integrates existing Skilled and Technical Science courses from the five community college consortium members and a new set of four core curriculum courses supplemented with gamification and the online immersive media environment, Second Life. The new core curriculum is ADA compliant and designed with contextualized learning to include basic skills remediation in the occupational skills training. IMPACT also integrated coaching and mentorship which featured advanced behavioral coaching strategies that supported participant psychological capital, stress management and resilience, and advanced KSAO assessments to predict participants’ abilities to meet the physical and cognitive demands of manufacturing-related SOC/O*Net job descriptions.
