Computer Applications Specialist Training Program - Course Materials

The CCRI PACE Computer Applications Specialist Training Program is designed for individuals who are interested in entering Rhode Island’s expanding Information Technology industry. The curriculum provides the student with a broad understanding of personal computers and computer software applications in both the Windows and Mac operating systems. Students will gain a functional foundation in Information Technology and improve their digital literacy skills. With this background, students will both (1) qualify to take industry recognized certification exams, such as IC3 and Microsoft Office Specialist, and (2) apply for entry level office support positions, such as Help Desk, Call Center IT support, or Administrative Assistant. PACE Academic Advisors will support participants from enrollment through completion of the program. Contextualized academic support and tutoring will be available. Upon successful completion of all course requirements in the program, students will receive a certificate of completion and can apply to receive 16 credits toward Computer Studies certificates or degree programs at CCRI, if they elect to continue their education.
