Licensed Practical Nursing: Fundamentals of Nursing - BHCC

The concept of caring in theory and practice is integrated into the course. The fundamental skills within the scope of practice of the practical nurse are taught and practiced in the lab setting. The clinical component of fundamentals allows the student to practice with supervision with the skills learned in the classroom. This course provides the foundation for which nursing is built and therefore to which all other nursing related courses are applied; hence, the principles of basic nutrition and pharmacology are initiated and threaded throughout this foundational course.
