Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician program will prepare students to work as pharmacy technicians within a retail or hospital setting, plus, prepare them to take the Pharmacy Technicians' Certificate Board (PTCB) Exam. Class content includes; pharmacy terminology, history, practice in multiple environments, calculations/measurements, reading and interpreting prescription, defining drugs by genric/brand names, drug classifications, IV flow rates, sterile compounding, dose conversions, aseptic techniques, handling sterile products, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), dispensing prescriptions, inventory control and billing/reimbursement information.
