HET 295 Capstone - Spring 2015

This course engages students in a capstone experience consisting of a comprehensive heating, ventilation, air conditioning, or refrigerating (HVAV/R) lab assignment and research project on relevant HVAC/R topics. The projects offer students the opportunity to synthesize and put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired in all other courses in the HET Program. In this course we will be completing a design project where we can learn the importance of proper techniques can eliminate future problems. Therefore, in this course, we will be working on a HVAC project that will take the full semester to complete. You will have weekly assignments to complete and you will be allowed to work through each step of this project at your own pace. However, you will need to meet some assignments milestones throughout the semester. Each week assignments will start each Monday of each week. The project will consist of a single family construction with a un-condition basement. What we will do in this project is to determine the heat load, air flow requirement, sizing duct system, and equipment requirement. This information will use to create an organized submittal for a final grade. The student can work to together on this project and the weekly coursework will be posted in the Weekly discussion board. Also, the Discussion Board will be used to ask question to the instructor or classmates. 10 Points will be given when students answer other student’s questions or comments in the Weekly Discussion Boards." Please note that all course materials and content are provided in the IMS Common Cartridge (IMSCC) format. The content can be accessed by opening the IMSCC file using your organization's Learning Management System application (these include Blackboard, D2L, Canvas etc.).
