The Information Systems and Technology (IST) Department at Utah Valley University and its partners in industry and workforce services will address lack of an adequate pool of skilled cybersecurity training in the region, the shortage of faculty and laboratory facilities at UVU to support cyber training, a lack of training in flexible modalities and delivery methods, and barriers to learning for TAA-eligible populations. The proposed program will train TAA-eligible and other displaced workers for the incoming 1,500+ employment positions at the new NSA Cyber-security Data Center located in Utah County and other employment deficits relevant to cybersecurity throughout the state and interstate region.
