Introduction to Geriatrics Curriculum - 543-301

The Introduction to Geriatrics course will offer training in four areas of care as they relate to the geriatric population in the long term care setting; dementia, restorative care, end of life and prevention/management of wounds. It is designed for certified nursing assistants working in long term care to increase knowledge and understanding of the resident population, encourage lifelong learning, promote the use of technology and improve job satisfaction through the power of knowledge. Students who complete basic nursing assistant and this course will receive the Geriatric Nursing Assistant Certificate.
