Construction and Utilities (CU Succeed)

The proposed CU Succeed program will serve 450 TAA-eligible and similar adults over three years in the West Central Minnesota Workforce Service Area. The program will provide training and certifications to individuals to obtain in-demand careers in the construction and utilities industries through the use of new mobile training units that travel to multiple sites, online workplace readiness and soft skills instruction, and workplace experiences. The following certifications will be awarded: (1) Workplace Readiness Certificate (new; required for all participants); (2) Workplace Safety/OSHA Certificate; (3) Precision Measurements and Blueprint Reading Certificate (new); and/or (4) Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Certificate. Upon successful completion, participants may continue on a related educational pathway in various construction and utilities program tracks for additional certificates, diplomas, and/or Associate of Applied Science degrees. Workplace experiences and wrap-around supports will be provided throughout the program. Articulation agreements with Minnesota State University Moorhead will provide participants with Bachelor of Science degree options. -Populations to be Served: TAA-eligible workers and similarly situated adults -Targeted Industries: Construction and Utilities
