Accelerated Career Pathways: From Hawaii to the Texas Panhandle

Amarillo College (AC) proposes to accelerate multiple entry options for healthcare and technical careers while redesigning courses within these careers to ensure students have computer technology access and efficacy necessary for long-term employment. Within the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region, a supply gap exists for trained workers with advanced manufacturing and transportation skills including machining, industrial/facility maintenance and professional truck operations. AC will use accelerated adult basic education pathways and stackable credentials to increase the number of entry level employees in these high demand careers.
