Healthcare IT Privacy and Security Course (Whatcom Community College)

This course will enable students to develop an in-depth understanding of healthcare information privacy and security issues and infrastructure planning. Students will learn about advanced health IT topics; security and privacy laws and regulations related to the exchange of patient data; requirements for health IT risk management, audits, and breach investigations; and developing and maintaining secure health IT systems. (5 credits, 55 hours lecture)
