Math Emporium

Developed and researched over ten years by the National Center for Academic Transformation (NCAT) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the Emporium Model is an alternative mathematics delivery method through which students access course materials from an online "emporium" and receive personalized, on-demand assistance from instructors, tutors, and peers. The modularized curriculum has multiple entry and exit points, which improves retention and time to completion. Delaware Tech used resources provided by Pearson who partnered with Emporium experts such as John Squires and Karen Wyrick. Pearson's MyLabsPlus provided the computerized instructional backdrop for the program. The materials provided include the syllabi, course pacing schedules, instructor information sheets, SMART lessons, video links, and other resources to help others get started creating an Emporium math program.
