North Georgia Technical College TAA Healthcare Career Pathwat Project

North Georgia Technical College had 7 TAA impacted industries within our eight county service area, with 555 impacted workers. However, the commuting pattern of those counties (GA DOL data as of June 4, 2010), indicates residents of our service area also work in nearby counties with another 43 TAA impacted industries (Banks, Clarke, Elbert, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall, Hart, Jackson), making 50 overall. Northeast Georgia is reeling from a combination of plant closings, a struggling economy, and an untrained workforce.
