WELD 1650 - Printreading and Welding Symbols
The purpose of this course is to introduce and familiarize students with weld print reading skills used in industry, including, but not limited to: AWS welding symbols, sketching, view representation, orthographic projection, measurement, structural steel materials, weld joint configuration and detailing, basic layout, and pipe system design. It is a hybrid course with a workbook format that includes review questions and competency tests completed online and classroom sessions twice a week to review work, complete sketching exercises, and engage with instructor face to face. It is a three credit hour course that is required for both a Certificate of Completion and an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Welding Technology.
