DESL 1640-01 - Diesel Fuel System and Tuning

The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with the air and fuel delivery systems, emission control devices and engine retarders that are currently used in the industry. Students will be instructed on the proper troubleshooting, repair and adjustment of the systems. DESL 1640 Diesel Fuel Systems and Tuning is a required course to obtain an Associates of Applied Science Degree or Certificate of Completion in Diesel Technology. This is a 4 credit class meets twice a week, 6 hours a day for 8 weeks. This class spends 2 hour in a classroom and 4 hours in the lab doing hands on troubleshooting. Homework is assigned before classes and materials are designed to help the student understand the subject matter of that particular class.
