ELTR 2880 - Solid State Motor Control

This course deals with AC and DC electric motor drives and is taught at an intermediate level. The cornerstone of this class is the lab where students wire and trouble-shoot AC and DC motor drives. Our college has an extensive lab including “pre-built” lab equipment (LabVolt) and “home built” combination motor starters with Allen Bradley 40 AC drives, industrial grade relays, switches, lights and terminals strips. The academic side of the course, where students learn terminology and theory is important, however real competence is gained in the lab.
