HARU Technology Science Research Collaboration

The major goal of the project was to develop and demonstrate a way to engage students in other schools in timely and impactful research on public interest technology. The Tech Science Initiative at Harvard has been widely successful in engaging students in the design and publication of experiments that uncover unforeseen issues in technology. Their results have led to changes in laws, regulations and business practices. The full fruition of our plans was upended by the pandemic, but progress was made. PI Sweeney developed the notion of Investigation Plans and was able to demonstrate them as a vehicle to onboard students at Harvard and elsewhere to do timely and impactful research about technology in the public interest.
