CSU-Ohio Smart City Privacy Equity Community Awareness Empowerment
Completed the online training program consisting of five total modules. We also worked with our outside partners to offer the DPEIA clinic in Fall 2023. Five students, four law students, and one graduate social work student participated in the Clinic and conducted a complete assessment of a proposed mobile parking payments system by the City of Oakland Department of Transportation for the City of Oakland's Privacy Commission. The
students submitted the written report and presented it via Zoom to the Commissioners. We have promoted the work we are doing through several publications, including an article written by Brian Ray for the PIT-UN newsletter, a report by one of the Students for the same, and an online story featured on CSU's website. Dr. Stoddard-Dare and Prof. Ray with students Katrice Williams and Sara Behlke presented the project at the Social Work Distance Education Conference in March 2023. Finally, the students submitted their project to the MetroLab Student Cup Competition and were selected as a finalist team. They will present the project at the National MetroLab Conference in June 2023.
