Digital Forensics 1 - Howard

Digital Forensics is a study of examining digital data to detect and prevent crime and other violations. It is commonly used in legal investigations and corporate compliance procedures where evidence is stored on computers or digital storage devices. This course provides a comprehensive study of information technology, evidence examination and data retrieval from computer software and hardware. Students will have hands-on experience using various computer forensic tools and techniques in a virtual lab environment. The course consists of 12 online lessons with corresponding quizzes, virtual lab activities and written homework assignments. It includes two unit exams and a final exam. Upon successful completion, students will be able to understand the fundamentals of computer forensics and incident response.
