Welding Level II

In this 525-hour course, students will learn advanced Welding techniques and concepts. Classroom instruction will focus on determining proper settings and processes, material identification, gas selection, polarity selection, basic metallurgy, additional related mathematics, fabrication and detailing, advanced process selections. Lectures will be taught using a combination of visual aids, presentations, textbooks, videos, and current industry literature. Lab will focus on intermediate Gas Metal Arc Welding processes to include steel and aluminum, Flux-Cored Arc Welding and Dual Shielded Arc Welding. Students will also learn basic and intermediate Gas Tungsten Arc Welding on steel and aluminum. Other training includes CNC operations related to plasma cutting and programing Robotic Welders at entry-level proficiency. Class structure consists of 20% Classroom (lecture, theory) and 80% demonstration and hands-on training. Prerequisite: Welding Level I.
