Circuit Analysis 1 (ELC 131) Course

This course introduces DC and AC electricity with an emphasis on circuit analysis, measurements, and operation of test equipment. Topics include DC and AC principles, circuit analysis laws and theorems, components, test equipment operation, circuit simulation, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to interpret circuit schematics; design, construct, verify, and analyze DC/AC circuits; and properly use test equipment. Quality Note:
CPCC tasked an independent subject matter expert to review the digitized curriculum.
Quality of Subject Matter was assured by:
  • Consultations during development of instructional materials
  • Participation as an ongoing member of team developing the instructional materials
  • SME Quality Report is posted in Skills Commons
Quality of Online/Hybrid Course Design assured by:
  • Custom Quality Rubric
Course Note:
The Mechatronics Re-Envisioned Grant’s primary focus was to digitize a portion of the Mechatronics curriculum to encourage student engagement and interaction with topics before they attend class. This flipped classroom model is a dynamic way to introduce topics via interactive software so that students come to class prepared to dive deeper into the material, receive greater feedback and guidance from instructors, and have more time for hands-on labs and activities. This redesigned curriculum is one of many tools used by the instructor and is in no way a complete course.
