Orthotics and Prosthetics Office Specialist

In this course, you will learn medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and ethical behavior as it pertains to the field of orthotics, prosthetics, and pedorthics. Special emphasis will be placed on developing the background knowledge for the Medicare billing system specific to orthotics, prosthetics, and pedorthics. Most importantly, you will learn to function as an important member of the healthcare team by providing key services such as patient registration and scheduling, medical records management, diagnostic and procedural coding, insurance claim filing and daily financial practices.
