Green Construction Management Fundamentals
This is the course outline for Capital Community College’s Green Construction Management Fundamentals. Students will successfully be able to demonstrate procedures as a construction management professional including a basic body of knowledge of construction, job identification, terminology, and the use of equipment as used in light and heavy construction. An introduction to sustainable construction will include site selection and documentation, green building construction fundamentals, integrating building systems, sustainable construction methods. This course covers the following topical areas; introduction, innovative systems, building site, the building, foundation systems, floor systems, wall systems, roof systems, moisture and thermal protection, doors and windows, special construction, finish work, mechanical and electrical systems, and sustainable systems. Student’s will also demonstrate understanding of sustainable construction methods used for wood, concrete, and steel for commercial and residential projects.
