HIT 140: PATHOPHARMACOLOGY FOR HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

HIT 140, Pathopharmacology provides the health information technology student an introduction to pharmacology, basic pharmacological terminology and concepts, drug categories and their uses, mechanisms of drug action, dosage forms, routes of administration, and common generic and trade names of medications. Drugs used to treat common disease or conditions will be discussed as well as drug use in older adults. All criteria is based on the core competencies as defined by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
