The goals of the Foreign Language Credential (FLC) Training Curriculum are to train incumbent and aspiring healthcare workers at all levels to: • Proficiently use healthcare terminology in both English and their native language • Use basic translation skills, such as parroting and chunking, in a healthcare setting • Adopt a culturally competent approach to the care and translation services that they provide to patients. By addressing these needs, participants will be better prepared to offer accurate healthcare and high standards of customer service to patients. The program leads to a certificate of completion in foreign language proficiency that supports career advancement in a competitive healthcare job market.
