HIT 297 Professional Practice in HIT

HIT 297 - This course encompasses a supervised professional practice experience in an affiliated health-related agency providing 90 practicum hours under the direction of a preceptor and is required of all students seeking the AAS in HIT. The course provides a culminating experience for the HIT program and includes some non-course educational experiences. Professional topics related to the field of Health Information Technology and issues in global health policy and leadership will be presented. This course is communications and/or writing intensive and includes instructional components on basic concepts of financial literacy, responsible planning and necessary financial skills. Students will be required to submit a student learning portfolio. Although no points will be awarded for these activities, failure to complete any of them will result in an automatic grade of F in this course. If extenuating circumstances exist, you may apply for an incomplete. See your student catalog for more information about applying for an incomplete.
