Iowa Sense Aligned Welding Curriculum

Course descriptions and materials from the Iowa SENSE Aligned Welding Curriculum. These courses focus on shielded metal arc welding (informally known as stick welding), and prepare students to take an AWS welder certification test, which is recommended for the program's successful completion.

Industry Partner:
American Welding Society and multiple welding employers across the state of Iowa were consulted. We worked in partnership with AWS to develop our plans for the curriculum development. Employers across the state were surveyed about welding positions to ensure alignment to needs. Local colleges also consulted with employers in their regions to determine implementation of developed courses.
