Manufacturing Processes Course (MTTN 101)

MTTN 101 is a survey course of manufacturing, its history and techniques with an emphasis on materials and metalworking. It contains 15 units that include the following: 1: Overview of Manufacturing, Iron and It's History; 2: Steels; 3: Characteristics of Steels, Metallurgy and Heat Treatment; 4: Nonferrous Metals - Aluminum; 5: Other Nonferrous Metals; 6: Casting; 7: Forging; 8: Stamping and Sheet Metal; 9: Powder Metallurgy; 10: Welding; 11: Brazing, Soldering and Other Joining Methods; 12: Non-Traditional Machining; 13: Machining; 14: Manufacturing Systems; and 15: Surface Treatments. The content package contains a course syllabus, a complete Blackboard LMS extract, an IMSCC (Common Cartridge) extract, and copies of the quality notes. The course content can be accessed by opening the IMSCC file using your organization's Learning Management System application (these include Blackboard, D2L, Canvas etc.). Additional information about accessing Common Cartridge files can be found on the IMS Global Web site: http://www.imsglobal.org/cc. Future plans for the Skills Commons Web site include a feature that will allow users to view and download course content that is provided in the IMSCC format.
